Brow tinting is the original form of brow styling. If you’ve been getting your brows done at Kylie Hay, chances are you’ve had a brow tint before.
A semi-permanent alternative to eyebrow pencils, tinting is a fantastic option especially if your brows are very fair, as it adds depth and colour definition, and can also make the brows appear to be thicker and fuller. You may choose to tint your brows dark for a more dramatic look or opt for a lighter tint for a more natural look. Brow tint is designed to colour the hair only, not the skin beneath your hair and will last around 2-4 weeks.

BROW DYE
Eyebrow dye (also known as hybrid dye or tint), is the latest tinting solution to hit the brow world.
If you pencil in your brows or you’re thinking about a semi-permanent option like microblading or brow tattoo, brow dye may be the perfect option to start with!
A longer lasting alternative to traditional tint, brow dye not only colours the hair, but it also creates a beautiful stain on the skin which helps fill any gaps for a fuller looking brow.
Similar to brow tint, you can choose a more dramatic brow dye effect or opt for a more natural finish.
Kylie Hay uses Noemi dye, a brand new hybrid tint with care formula.
This product not only colours the hair, it also contains nourishing ingredients which will help strengthen, protect the hair and stimulate its growth.
The PH value is 9-10, which means that it penetrates through the hair making the dyes last up to 8 days on the skin (depending on skin type) and 5-6 weeks on the hair, providing an intense beautiful result.
Noemi dye contains henna extract which is not to be confused with henna pigment. It is also vegan!

BROW TINT/DYE PRE TREATMENT & AFTERCARE ADVICE
PRE TREATMENT ADVICE

Please arrive with NO brow product or eye makeup.

Avoid spray tan/self tan on your face 3 days prior to treatment. Tan present on the face can result in a green tinge where the tint is placed.

Do not use oil based eye makeup remover (or any oil, oily primers, moisturising creams, sunscreen, etc) on, or around your brows for 48 hours before your appointment. Use micellar water or any oil free remover.

Cease using any brow growth serums 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Avoid using retinols, retin-A, AHA's, BHA's, steroid creams or other anti-ageing or skin thinning treatments for 3 days prior to treatment as these can make your skin overly sensitive.

Remove contact lenses.
If waxing is included in your service:

You must be off Roaccutane or other acne medications for 6-12 moths prior to treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 1 week prior your appointment.

No facials, peels or microdermabrasion or cosmetic procedures in the 2 weeks prior to treatment.
AFTERCARE ADVICE​

Avoid wetting your brow for 24 hours. This includes sweat, steam and saunas.

Keep your brows free of brow pencil or brow makeup for the first 24hrs after your brow tint.

Avoid using oil based or strong makeup removers for 24-48 hours as they may strip the colour. I recommend Elleebana Makeup Remover.

Do not use any lotions, creams, shampoos, face wash/cleansers for a minimum of 24 hours.

Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours after treatment. Strong sunlight/UV light may fade the tint.

Avoid heat treatments for at least 24 hours.

Avoid chlorine swimming for at least 24hrs.
-
Do not receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after this treatment.

It is highly recommended you use Elleeplex Aftercare Formula or Hyaluronic serum to care for your brows after your treatment.​​

Do not rub your eyebrows with a towel, pat dry gently.

No spray tan/self tanning the face for 48 hours.
If your tinting treatment also included waxing you should also avoid any exfoliators, and also anti-ageing skincare retinols, Retin-A, AHA’s, BHA’s, glycolic acids, steroid creams around the brow area for 48-72 hours. After that, avoid applying around the brow area to prevent premature colour fade.

Which should you book in for?
If you are wanting a more subtle brow style opt for brow tint. However, if you prefer your brows darker with more definition and a filled in look, I would suggest trying brow dye.
